As the largest independently owned and operated engine remanufacturer in North America, our family-owned company is driven by a passion for excellence and a commitment to getting our customers back on the road quickly. We are looking for a talented, driven individual to join our 1st shift team in Fridley, MN, where we focus on precision, efficiency, and superior customer satisfaction. Provide mechanical and engine knowledge support to assist the New Product Development (NPD) team in launching new products as well as solve problems with existing engine products. This position will also serve as a technical resource for other departments in the operation as well as contributing to documentation and bill of material creation and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Work with NPD team and operations to launch new engine products. Research engine parts listings and develop bill of materials for all applicable configurations. Disassemble engine cores and assemble engines during product development process. Complete special build/BOC engine packets Identify reclaim opportunities with current and incoming engine products. Create, update, and maintain process instructions and bill of materials. Respond to sales quotes and assist sales department with technical questions Provide technical support to all departments in the operation. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Certificate or degree in related field from college or technical school with a minimum of 2 years' experience or at least 10 years of on-the-job experience related to diesel engines. Familiar with Microsoft Office products Familiar with bill of materials and standard work instruction Work and communicate well with a diverse group of people and internal departments.
Work Environment/Physical demand:
This Job is primarily an in-office work setting, operating computer and software systems while sitting for extended periods of time. You will also spend time on the shop floor in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting. The environment on the shop floor is usually loud, hot and humid in the summer months and involves standing on cement floors with exposure to chemicals and metal particles. PPE required on manufacturing floor at all times. This job requires employee to stand while using hands, vision, and arm strength. Employee must be able to walk, lift or move up to 70 pounds and must be able to torque, crimp and grasp.
