Job Description:
Nassau Community College invites applications for a full-time Technical Assistant I position. The successful candidate will provide assistance to assigned areas, including but not limited to the Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) in the operation of learning labs/laboratories in conjunction with instructional needs as well as general assistance in those areas necessary for the operation of the learning/labs/laboratories. Will make minor repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment, recorders, projectors, microscopes, etc. Assists faculty members in the operation of audio-visual equipment. Assists in learning labs/laboratories for instructional purposes. Maintains records of equipment issue and use, as well as material and supply stock levels. Assists in the preparation and administration of laboratory examinations.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related field.
Additional Information:
In addition, the qualified candidate will preferably have an Associate's degree in multi-media technology or a related field; Three (3) years of experience in the audiovisual field supporting live event production in a collegiate or professional environment, including, but not limited to, setups, installations from start to finish, repairs, removals, strong troubleshooting, professional technical support for event setup and maintenance for projection, web streaming and sound systems; Experience working with multiple stakeholders, ensuring all specifications and needs are met; Experience working with Windows and Macintosh operating systems, in particular syncing them with any projection systems; Experience with athletic production or streaming software (e.g., Sidearm, Hudl, PrestoSports); Capable of working in narrow and high spaces, lifting/carrying at least 80 pounds, handling power tools, climbing ladders, as well as standing and walking for long periods of time.
