  • Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, 1 st
Shift Pay Range:
  • $80,000 -$120,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications).

  • Position Summary
  • The Technical Sales Representative - General Industrial is responsible for representing the company in its effort in obtaining new business, maintaining current business, and providing technical support.
  • Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • + Prospect, sell and service industrial paint coatings.
+ Recognize sales opportunities when providing service work and conversely recognize opportunities for technical support when prospecting customers. + Provide technical education and solutions in the field to customers regarding all aspects of company products. + Provide account maintenance for current customers including contract negotiations. + Forecast sales and price adjustments. + Work with the development team to ensure technical skills are current with regards to existing products and future products in consideration. + Report all initiatives to supervisor and provide status updates on a regular basis. + Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Qualification Requirements
  • + Education level preferred: bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry or Business. + Experience level preferred: At least three years of technical sales experience in a chemical coatings' environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
  • + Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), Concur, ERP system, and other office machinery.
+ Leadership capabilities with the ability to lead by example. + Exemplify core values, i.e., Integrity, Loyalty, Passion, Commitment, and Respect. + Works well in a team environment. + Excellent team building and communications skills. + Superb written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to travel over 50% of the time.
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands
  • + Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly in a manufacturing or operational setting.
+ Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area. + Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and control objects, tools, or equipment. + Required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulder level. + Occasional operation of machinery using foot controls + May be required to climb, balance, and reach overhead as part of job duties. + Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • + Safety shoes, safety glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in production areas. + Respirators and ear plugs are required for specific production processes.
