This is a full-time, phone-based sales position where you'll help Medicare-eligible consumers understand their healthcare options and enroll in plans that fit their needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport and trust over the phone Someone who is coachable, open to feedback, and eager to learn The ability to stay motivated and bounce back from rejection or challenging conversations Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven sales environment Able to adapt, think on your feet, and confidently navigate conversations with different types of people Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems while communicating with clients Organized, dependable, and able to follow processes while managing multiple tasks Previous sales, customer service, or call-center experience is a plus, but not required Spanish or other language skills are highly valued, but not required What will you be doing? Connect with Medicare-eligible consumers by phone to understand their healthcare needs Explain Medicare plan options clearly and help clients identify coverage that fits their needs Guide clients through the enrollment process from conversation through completed application Build rapport and provide a positive, ethical customer experience throughout the sales process Handle both inbound and outbound sales opportunities in a high-volume environment Accurately document client interactions and enrollment information across multiple systems Follow HIPAA/privacy requirements, Medicare regulations, carrier guidelines, and company compliance standards Work toward individual sales and performance goals while maintaining quality and compliance standards Participate in ongoing coaching, training, and development Licensing & Background Requirements An active health insurance license is required to work as a Medicare Sales Agent, but you do not need to be licensed when you apply. NSBA provides paid, in-house licensing training for eligible new hires and covers the cost of the pre-licensing course, licensing exam, license application, and required fingerprinting. Unlicensed new hires are paid $17.75/hour during the licensing period. Upon entering Medicare training, the hourly rate increases to $20/hour. Employment in this role is contingent upon successfully obtaining and maintaining the required insurance license. Candidates must also complete required background screening, and state Departments of Insurance conduct their own background review as part of the licensing process. If you are currently or were previously contracted with insurance carriers that require a release, all required carrier releases must be obtained and provided to NSBA before your start date.
