Saw Filer / Saw Maintenance Technician - Swing Shift Company Overview One of the largest producers of premium wood fence boards in the world is seeking an experienced Saw Filer. The company specializes in Western Red Cedar and other high-quality species sourced from Pacific Northwest forests. They operate multiple modern, zero-waste sawmills across rural communities in Washington and Idaho. Position Summary This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, sharpening, and changing saws to support safe and efficient operations at the sawmill. Key Responsibilities Bench, fit, and sharpen both band saws and circular saws Maintain Micarta and Babbitt guides along with filing equipment Sharpen chipper knives Perform machine center alignments Transport, install, and change saws at machine centers Inspect, repair, or discard damaged saws Follow all safety procedures and complete other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum 2+ years of saw filing experience Strong commitment to safety and working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Preferred experience with fitting and benching both band saws and round saws Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents Basic written and verbal communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Must be willing to join and maintain good standing in the Carpenters Union (required) This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana (THC) Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position works in a sawmill and industrial environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and temperature changes. Schedule Full-time Swing Shift:

Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM (40+ hours per week). Overtime may be required.

Pay & Benefits Hourly Rate:
