Temp-to-Hire Position Overview The Saw Operator is responsible for setting up and operating band saw equipment to cut materials according to production specifications. This Saw Operator role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate cuts, maintaining equipment, and following safety standards. The ideal Saw Operator is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of working efficiently in a production environment. Required Experience & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience operating band saws or similar machinery preferred Ability to read and use tape measures, calipers, and micrometers Basic understanding of machine operation and mechanical processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods Essential Duties & Responsibilities Set up and operate band saw machines to cut materials accurately Read work orders, blueprints, and cutting lists Measure and mark materials for precise cuts Monitor machine performance and ensure quality output Adjust blade speed, feed rates, and tension as needed Inspect finished pieces to verify specifications and quality standards Perform routine maintenance including blade changes and machine cleaning Maintain a clean and safe work environment Report equipment issues or defects to supervisors Assist with material handling and inventory tasks as needed Work Environment Manufacturing or workshop environment Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery PPE required including gloves, goggles, and hearing protection Physically active role requiring standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion Job
