Conducts assessments to identify risk factors and assist clients to formule safety plans. Develops and maintains relionships with individuals and families to include case closure and making modificions to safety plans and services as needed. Acts as liaison with commands, government, and prive civilian organizions to ensure safety of victims and coordined trement services are provided. May collabore with local court systems, child welfare and civilian law enforcement agencies on family maltrement. Provides resource and referral services to clients and local agencies such as in providing informion and directing clients to available military and civilian services, coordining services between military and civilian agencies, and providing informion on local shelters, crisis centers, and community service providers. While receiving some instruction, incumbent must handle all ongoing assignments on his or her own initiive, experience, and judgment. This involves independently assessing for risk and consulting with commands and other pertinent agencies concerning approprie protection orders and other safety measures. The incumbent provides crisis intervention and problem resolution for clients who are in crisis or under extreme stress. The complexity of the work is heightened because of the requirement to interface effectively with multiple agencies and organizions, both military and civilian. Maintains records of all contacts, referrals, and outcomes with victims; ensure th the Family Advocacy case manager is fully aware of the victim's situion; and ensures the confidential handling of all documents or conversions reled to victim care. May facilite briefings and classes to commands and other military agencies on domestic violence in order to promote healthy family interactions and reduce incidences of initial and recurrent family maltrement. EVALUATIONS
Qualificions Two years of experience in the victim advocacy field providing direct service to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault th demonstres knowledge of and skills to provide direct support to individuals and families experiencing abuse by utilizing early intervention to stop abuse, promote healthy family interactions and reduce incidences of initial and recurrent family maltrement. Skill to conduct assessments to identify risk factors and assist clients to formule safety plans and design and implement goals for service plans; analyze and evalue assessment da to provide intervention assistance on risk factors for clients; develop and maintain relionships with clients and act as liaison with government and prive civilian organizions to ensure adeque and coordined trement services. Knowledge of military organizions, missions, lifestyles, and situions which can contribute to family stress, problems and crisis situions. Ability to communice and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment during crisis situions to include professionals in the medical, legal, law enforcement and social service communities. Ability to compose written reports and merials clearly, concisely, and effectively. Knowledge of and ability to collabore with local court systems, child welfare and civilian law enforcement agencies on family maltrement. Knowledge of resources and services available within local and military communities. Ability to facilite educion classes on early intervention to stop abuse, promote healthy family interactions and reduce incidences of initial and recurrent family maltrement. Current driver's license or the ability to obtain one and ability to opere a motor vehicle. Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Due to the nure of work in this position, the incumbent may serve in an "on call" duty stus outside of normal work hours th includes: remaining in a reasonable call back radius, carrying a cell phone or pager, or regularly checking email to respond to emergencies; remaining in a ste of readiness to perform work with limitions on pursuing outside leisure activities, and/or reporting to a designed post of duty to be ready to or to perform work.
