  • Full-time As a Scheduler for PsychPlus, you will be the primary point of contact for patients and visitors in a medical facility.
You will provide administrative and clerical support while ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for patients. Your role will involve handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and assisting with various front-office tasks.
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors, ensuring a friendly and professional demeanor. Register new patients, collect necessary information, and update existing patient records. Schedule patient appointments, coordinating with healthcare providers and accommodating special requests or urgent cases. Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries, providing accurate information or directing them to the appropriate department. Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with insurance-related paperwork. Collect and process payments for services rendered, including co-pays, deductibles, or outstanding balances. Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, including verifying personal information and collecting necessary documentation. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and minimize wait times. Manage and organize patient forms, medical charts, and other documentation. Assist in the coordination of referrals to other healthcare providers or specialists. Adhere to relevant privacy and confidentiality regulations, such as HIPAA.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training as a medical assistant is preferred. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals effectively. Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, compassionate attitude. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software. Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and basic clinical processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate patient records. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with insurance verification and billing processes. Understanding of privacy and confidentiality regulations, such as HIPAA. Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging or stressful situations with professionalism. Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the healthcare facility's schedule.
