Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting students' communication development within an elementary school setting for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity, located near the scenic area of Port Henry, NY, is ideal for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) who excels in providing in-person therapy and enjoys building lasting relationships. In this position, you'll work on-site two days per week (14 hours total), focusing on direct K-6th grade speech and language needs throughout the full school year from September through June. The school has shifted away from virtual therapy in favor of consistent in-person support, emphasizing the value of continuity for students and staff alike.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active and valid Speech-Language Pathologist license (CCC required) Prior experience in elementary school settings strongly preferred Demonstrated proficiency addressing a broad range of speech and language challenges in children grades K-6 Commitment to consistent, on-site service for the length of the assignment Adaptability for location-based housing or commute considerations Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, parents, and students
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy aligned with IEP goals Conduct assessments, progress monitoring, and reporting to the school team Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff Develop engaging lesson plans targeting articulation, language, fluency, and social communication Maintain thorough documentation per school and regulatory standards Participate in parent conferences, case meetings, and professional development as needed This role offers the chance to see the impact of your work over a full academic year, making a difference where reliable in-person services matter most.
