Job Description
Category Schools - Behavior Specialist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Behavior Specialist in an engaging school environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with educators and families, helping students achieve academic and behavioral success. Your ability to build rapport, assess student needs, and develop effective interventions will play a key role in promoting positive outcomes. As a vital member of the educational team, you'll participate in creating safe, supportive, and inclusive learning spaces for all.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education, psychology, counseling, or a related field Professional experience working in schools with students exhibiting behavioral challenges Strong understanding of behavioral intervention strategies and positive behavior supports Familiarity with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and familiesResponsibilities:
Conduct individual and group assessments to evaluate student behaviors and develop actionable plans Create, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans alongside school staff Model and coach strategies for positive behavior support to other professionals Lead crisis intervention and provide guidance for effective de-escalation techniques Gather and analyze data to track progress and inform decision-making Communicate regularly with families and staff to ensure a coordinated approach Experience in school-based behavior intervention, a commitment to positive student outcomes, and adaptability to diverse needs will set you up for success in this rewarding contract position.
