LaPoynor ISD is seeking a qualified and student‑centered Secondary Counselor to serve the students of LaPoynor Junior High and LaPoynor High School. The Secondary campus currently serves approximately 250 students across grades 6-12.

Description/Notes:
The individual in this role will prioritize the social and emotional wellbeing of our secondary students, ensuring they feel supported, connected, and prepared to engage in learning. Building on that foundation, the counselor will also provide academic guidance and college‑, career‑, and military‑readiness support, including assisting students as they explore and progress through Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and pathways. Responsibilities include helping families navigate behavioral and academic supports, collaborating with teachers, CTE staff, and campus administrators, supporting student scheduling (including CTE course sequencing), and coordinating required testing. The counselor will play a vital role in fostering a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree in counseling from an accredited college or university Valid Texas school counselor certificate
Salary Range:
According to LPISD pay scale $350 towards TRS Insurance, $10,000 district paid life insurance, supplemental insurance available 5 state, 5 local days
