Aug 18, 2026 Job Description Randolph Union is a 7-12 school serving three wonderful central Vermont towns. With a strong and supportive administrative team, progressive teacher leaders, a highly regarded Project-Based Learning Lab, and a one-of-a-kind Innovation Center, RU is a dynamic place to work. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students in grades 7-12. The School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting a safe and healthy school environment, addressing both physical and emotional health needs, modeling compassionate and clear boundaries, and supporting students in developing resilience and self efficacy so that they can be effective learners. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and emergency response Develop, implement, and monitor individualized healthcare plans (IHPs), 504 plans, and support IEP goals as needed Effective communication skills to clearly communicate student health needs with instructional staff Administer medications and maintain accurate health records in compliance with state regulations Complete DITEP assessments and cessation efforts with the Student Assistance Program counselor Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and school staff to support student health and attendance Monitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure compliance with immunization requirements Promote health education related to wellness, prevention, and healthy decision-making Support students experiencing mental health concerns in collaboration with counseling staff Maintain a safe and sanitary health office environment Participate in crisis response and school safety planning Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Vermont (or be qualified to apply for and receive one) and a Vermont Educator License with a School Nurse Endorsement (or be able to qualify for a provisional license) Experience in pediatric, adolescent, or school nursing preferred Knowledge of adolescent development and school-based health practices Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Interested candidates should submit: A cover letter Resume Copies of licensure and certifications Three letters of reference Copies of relevant transcripts OSSD is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
