Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students and young adults with diverse needs from Pre-K through adult transition ages. Located near Elgin, IL, this role offers a balanced 18-hour workweek from May 26th to June 25, 2026—ideal for professionals seeking impactful work with flexibility. You'll dedicate 16 hours weekly within school environments and an additional 2 hours assisting a local home client.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program (master's or doctorate) approved by ACOTE Completion of required clinical fieldwork as part of your OT program Successful passage of the NBCOT national certification exam and active Illinois OT license Ability to provide official exam verification to the state of Illinois Commitment to ongoing licensure renewal and continuing education Previous experience providing OT services in a school-based setting preferred Familiarity with the IEP process and supporting documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver therapeutic interventions to students from early childhood through adulthood who are transitioning from school-based services Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary educational teams, families, and community service providers Provide both in-school treatment sessions and dedicated home-based therapy Develop individualized treatment plans and progress reports in accordance with IEP goals Adapt interventions to meet a wide variety of needs and settings, ensuring the highest level of support for each individual If you're a licensed Occupational Therapist ready to make a difference in both traditional and community-based environments, this specialized contract could be a perfect fit.
