Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding Occupational Therapy opportunity designed for flexibility and impact, supporting learners from pre-kindergarten through adult transition programs. This contract role offers 18 hours per week, running from May 26th through June 25th, 2026. Most hours are on-site at local schools, complemented by two hours per week providing services within a nearby home setting, allowing you to make a meaningful difference in various environments.
Desired Qualifications:
Graduate of a master's or doctoral OT program accredited by ACOTE Completion of required fieldwork or clinical internships as part of an OT program Successful passing of the NBCOT national certification exam for occupational therapists, with exam verification submitted to the state of Illinois Active OT licensure in Illinois; willingness to maintain licensure with ongoing continuing education Experience working within a school setting preferred Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) is a plusRole Expectations:
Deliver occupational therapy services and support for students ranging from pre-K through adult transition, adapting approaches based on individual needs Conduct therapy sessions at school locations for 16 hours each week, plus an additional 2 hours in a local home, providing a diverse professional experience Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student development and functional goals Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes and participation in IEP meetings as appropriate Demonstrate flexibility and empathy in addressing the challenges and successes of students in their academic and transitional journeys Enjoy the opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment, helping students achieve independence and functional success.
