Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic environment supporting student growth and independence as an Occupational Therapist in a full-time contract position for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role is based in the vibrant Murphysboro area and offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with school professionals, helping students achieve educational and developmental goals.
Key Qualifications:
Active OT licensure in Illinois Prior experience providing occupational therapy services in educational settings preferred Strong understanding of special education processes, IEP development, and therapy documentation Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, other therapists, administrators, and families Excellent organizational and communication skills Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver school-based occupational therapy services for students according to IEP goals and district guidelines Conduct assessments to identify therapy needs and develop intervention plans Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, sessions, and progress reports Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering insights and contributing to student success planning Adapt strategies to address sensory, motor, and adaptive needs, promoting student participation in classroom activities Serve as a resource to staff and families, providing education and guidance on strategies to support student outcomes The contract spans August 2026 through May 2027, with a 37.5-hour work week.
