Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for an experienced School Psychologist working within a high school therapeutic program this summer. This position is centered around the Extended School Year (ESY) session, running from June 1st through June 30th, offering you the chance to make a positive impact in a dynamic academic setting near New Britain, CT. You'll play a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic needs of high school students, collaborating closely with educators and families while enjoying a focused, short-term assignment that aligns with your expertise.
Ideal candidates bring:
Licensure and/or certification as a School Psychologist in Connecticut Experience working with students in high school or therapeutic settings A strong understanding of special education law and IEP process Excellent communication and collaboration skills Passion for fostering a positive, supportive environment for students with diverse needs Ability to evaluate student needs and develop appropriate interventions Key responsibilities include: Conducting psychological assessments and interpreting results Supporting the creation and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Providing direct counseling and behavioral interventions for students Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to develop strategies for student success Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences Documenting services and maintaining accurate records in compliance with school and state guidelines This is a fantastic opportunity for those seeking meaningful, short-term work in a supportive, therapeutic high school environment.
