Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a difference supporting young learners as a full-time contracted school psychologist for the 2024-2025 academic year. This dynamic role is ideal for professionals looking to engage with diverse student populations in two rewarding settings. You'll spend part of your week at an Early Childhood Center, working with preschool and kindergarten children, and the rest with an elementary program designed for students with autism and developmental disabilities (grades K-5, three classrooms). This unique split fosters the chance to impact students' growth and development at key educational stages.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement Experience supporting students in early childhood and/or specialized programs preferred Solid knowledge of psychological assessments and data-driven intervention strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families Passion for providing equitable access and advocating for students with unique learning profiles Adaptability and creativity in tailoring support to varied developmental needs
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations Consult with teachers, staff, and families to develop effective interventions and supports Participate in IEP meetings, contributing essential insights and recommendations Deliver direct and consultative services for behavioral, emotional, and academic needs Serve as a resource in the development of individualized education plans This contract offers the opportunity to work closely with supportive colleagues in a collaborative environment.
