Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a positive impact in schools this summer as a contract social worker serving a small caseload near Coal Center, PA. Support students during an Extended School Year (ESY) program at two welcoming campus locations in McMurray and Waynesburg. Engage with a close-knit group of 12 students, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met in a focused, supportive environment. Dates for this assignment run from June 18, 2026, through July 17, 2026, with student contact days spread over 19 mornings (8 AM to 12 PM, schedule subject to change).
What you bring:
Valid Pennsylvania School Social Worker Certificate (required) Prior experience as a school social worker, with a passion for student advocacy Ability to support diverse learners with empathy and professionalism Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit Dependable transportation and ability to work onsite at both McMurray and Waynesburg campuses Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and ethical standards Key responsibilities: Provide social-emotional support for students participating in ESY Develop and implement intervention strategies targeting students' individual needs Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure student success Document services and maintain up-to-date student records Contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate through team engagement Attend inservice on June 18, 2026, and be present throughout all scheduled ESY days Perks of this role: Manageable caseload focused on truly knowing and helping each student Limited, consistent schedule—enjoy your afternoons free Opportunity to shape student growth in a meaningful way Supportive and professional school environment Bring your expertise and compassion to students who need it most—apply now by connecting your current resume and relevant details to this opportunity.
