Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Expand your impact this summer by providing essential support as a dedicated school social worker for an Extended School Year (ESY) program near Irwin, PA. This contract opportunity spans from mid-June through mid-July, offering you the chance to work closely with a small group of students and collaborate with educators within a collaborative and caring educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active Pennsylvania School Social Worker Certificate Demonstrate experience supporting diverse student needs in a school or comparable setting Capable of working onsite at both McMurray and Waynesburg campuses as scheduled Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and educational staff Effective communicator with excellent organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support services and guidance to a caseload of 12 students throughout the ESY session Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement individualized student plans Utilize knowledge of social work best practices to address students' academic, social, and emotional goals Conduct assessments and offer crisis intervention as needed within the school environment Maintain accurate documentation and report student progress in accordance with program protocols This role follows a convenient schedule: 8am - 12pm (subject to change), over 19 school days between June 22nd and July 17th, 2026. The in-service orientation for teachers takes place June 18th, and there are no classes on July 3rd. This onsite position offers the opportunity to make a difference in a focused, supportive setting.
