Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract To Hire Step into an important role supporting students' success as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in a vibrant educational setting near Camden, ME. This contract-to-hire opportunity is full-time, following the school year calendar with 183 workdays, offering up to 8 hours per day of engaging, in-person services. Make a direct impact by helping students develop essential communication skills crucial for their academic and social growth.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
Current SLP license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) required Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred Strong knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment best practices for speech, language, and communication disorders Effective communication skills to collaborate with students, families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needsKey Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group speech-language therapy sessions on campus Conduct speech/language screenings and comprehensive evaluations Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with special education teams Document progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate outcomes to families and staff Consult with classroom teachers and participate in IEP meetings as needed Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages student progress and confidence This position offers a fulfilling chance to motivate and guide students while building meaningful professional relationships.
