• AECOM
• is seeking an
• Archaeology Technician II
• for immediate employment in our Portland, OR office.

This is a remote, part-time, on-call position, meaning workdays and times will be determined on an as-needed basis. The Archaeology Technician primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Field projects will primarily be in the PNW (Oregon and Washington State) with the opportunity for additional projects as they present

• Candidates will need flexibility to travel overnight for field work sessions.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• + Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.

+ May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites. + Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation. + Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.

• Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:

• + High School graduate + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in archaeological fieldwork. + Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification are required. + Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.

• Preferred Qualifications:

• + Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.

+ 3+ years of experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring. + Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desired. + Experience with Geospatial technology including GPS and GIS. + Computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
