This honorific postdoctoral fellowship program provides opportunities for outstanding geoscientists to work in the field of their choice. Research may be carried out independently or in collaboration with members of the Geosciences Department. One or more Hess Fellows may be appointed.

Initial awards are for one year, with the possibility of renewal depending upon satisfactory performance and available funding, at the rank of Postdoctoral Research Associate. A preferred starting date is expected to be on or before September 1st, 2027. Qualifications Applicants must have (or expect to have by the start of the appointment) a Ph.D. and must have less than two years of post-Ph.D. professional experience.
