Position Description:
The laboratory of Dr. Ryan LaLumiere in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences is seeking a full-time post-baccalaureate research intern. The research intern will assist with experiments in the laboratory focused on drug seeking and memory consolidation; help to manage the laboratory; and ensure regulatory compliance for all aspects of the laboratory.

Education Requirement:
A bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, psychology, or related field.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated knowledge and application of oral and written communication techniques and relationship-building skills and the ability to clearly communicate and work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive manner. Attention to detail and a high level of organization. Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., word processing, email, presentation software, and spreadsheets). Willingness to commit to a workweek of Tuesday through Saturday with Sunday and Monday as days off. Willingness to work with rodents. US citizenship or permanent residency is required to participate in the UI Postbaccalaureate Research Intern program.
Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to maintain compliance with different departmental, university, and government rules and guidelines. Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve problems independently. Demonstrated ability to manage time and keep experiments organized. Demonstrated ability to work with very small instruments and equipment. Database management and data entry skills. At least 6 months of experience working with rodents, especially rats.
