Job Description

Worcester, Massachusetts job type: Contract salary: $58.00 - 68.25 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelors responsibilities: Perform LC-MS experiments for intact/reduced mass analysis and peptide mapping to evaluate protein sequences and post-translational modifications. Execute separation and fractionation assays using HPLC/UPLC and AKTA systems. Perform biophysical characterization methods (e.g., DSC) and raw material analyses using vibrational spectroscopy. Design and execute robust experiments for analytical method development, troubleshooting, and investigative studies. Generate reliable data, maintain detailed electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN), and author technical characterization reports.qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's (5+ years experience) or Master's (2+ years experience) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related technical discipline. Proven experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical industry setting. Hands-on expertise with protein mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), and fractionation (AKTA). Strong foundational understanding of protein structure, post-translational modifications, and characterization assays. Excellent technical writing, verbal communication, and organizational skills.Preferred:
Experience using bioinformatics software to process and analyze mass spectrometry data. Familiarity with vibrational spectroscopy (IR, NIR, Raman) and multivariate analysis.skills:
