Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Associate will conduct research in the immunobiology of cancer and cancer immunotherapy. The research focuses on T cell differentiation and immune responses, with mechanistic explorations to unveil new therapeutic strategies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Conducts research experiments to understand the role of metabolism in regulating T cell differentiation and the immune response, with mechanistic explorations to unveil new therapeutic strategies. Works with primary T cells in vitro and mouse models in vivo, effectively. Demonstrates expertise in flow cytometry and routinely applies core molecular biology techniques, including Western blotting and quantitative PCR (qPCR). Prepares written reports of the research experiments. Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted. Gives oral presentations of the research. Assists with the instruction and training of students, fellows, lower-level professionals, and technicians in laboratory instrumentation and processes, etc., to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions. Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute core values. FLSA Exempt Grade Salary Details Minimum Salary 20,000 Mid Range Salary 90,000 Maximum Salary 200,000 Offer Information The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with flow cytometry and metabolic analyses or the ability to effectively learn these techniques will be needed. Effective oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in immunology, T cell biology, and cancer biology, preferred. Background in immunology or cancer biology research preferred. Experience with mouse colony management and mouse experiments in vivo is highly preferred. Computer literacy with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, and PowerPoint, preferred.
