Job Description

POST HARVEST TECHNICIAN
The Post-Harvest Technician r is responsible for harvesting, bucking, trimming, and any other handling of medical marijuana activities in an indoor grow facility. The Post-Harvest Technician is expected to work at an efficient pace, taking care to always abide by established quality standards. The role requires strong teamwork orientation.   • Keeps area organized and separate waste and plant material in accordance with their assigned harvest batch
  • Collects all non-resinous fan leaves, branches, and stems to be weighed and recorded as aggregated waste per the associated harvest batch, after all plants designated to that specific harvest batch are harvested
  • Performs bucking of dried plants, ensuring trimmed leaf, trimmed flower, and stems or other waste are separated, from each other and per harvest batch, to be weighed and reported properly
  • Ensures accuracy and traceability of trimming data by carefully collecting all plant material into its designated container with the associated METRC plant tag, after each plant is trimmed
  • Performs weighing of plants or plant material during bucking, trimming and harvesting, as requested by the Post-Harvest Manager
  • Performs quality assurance measures, including inspecting material during trim or packaging, maintaining a sterile environment and work area, and safeguarding against broken or defective packaging or storage containers
  • Ensures neat and accurate labeling, checking that batch numbers, strains and other required information is correct and legible on the label
  • Immediately reports any issues or deviations from quality standards to the Post-Harvest Manager during all post-harvest processes
  • Sanitizes tools, equipment and work area daily
  • Wears required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to prevent contamination and abide by personal hygiene standards at all times
  • While working in a team, processes in a timely manner, moving at an efficient pace, and always strive to increase productivity
  • Assists other departments when available to include cleaning other areas of the facility, hand trimming and packaging procedures
  • Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and interdependently Excellent verbal and written communication skills Be at least 21 years of age Ability to work in a diverse environment with people from various cultures, backgrounds, socioeconomic status, etc Maintain confidentiality requirements and law Able to pass a background check 1-3 years of experience in a regulated production environment preferred Basic plant structure knowledge preferred Ability to communicate clearly and accurately Must comply with Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Board regulations and guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
6 months or more experience working with Medical Marijuana 1 - 3 years' experience in in a regulated production environment Basic plant structure knowledge
Physical Requirements:
Long periods of prolonged standing and sitting Ability to observe and assess material that deviates from established company standards Hand-eye coordination and enough manual dexterity to perform manual labor tasks Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks for an extended period of time Some crouching or holding uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time Requires bending and lifting up to 25 pounds This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen (Marijuana EXEMPT).
