AK Description:

Research Technician I Dr. Naoto Hirano's laboratory is seeking a part-time Research Technician I to support research projects in protein engineering and immunology.

Duties:

Recombinant protein production, including protein expression, purification, and preparation for downstream experiments inclusive of SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and protein quantification; Molecular biology, including

PCR, DNA

cloning, and plasmid preparation; and Maintenance of accurate experimental records and documentation.

Qualifications:

At minimum, completion of a Bachelor's degree in a health or science related discipline, required At minimum, 6 months of relevant hands-on experience in cell culture, biochemistry, or related laboratory techniques, required Training in molecular biology, biochemistry, or immunology, preferably with laboratory components an asset Relevant laboratory experience related to molecular biology, mammalian cell culture, and standard immunological techniques, specifically those related to general recombinant protein expression workflows Ability to follow established experimental protocols, laboratory procedures, and to maintain complete experimental records; and Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary research team
