Category Laboratory - Cytology Job Type Contract Advance your career as a skilled cytology professional and play an essential part in laboratory operations, performing diagnostic evaluations to support patient care. This contract opportunity calls for a detail-oriented and experienced specialist with expertise in Laboratory Cytology.
Qualifications and Experience:
Certification as a Cytologist (e.g., ASCP or equivalent) Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting, focusing on cytology specimen analysis Familiarity with laboratory safety and quality control protocols Demonstrated proficiency in slide preparation, staining, and microscopic evaluation Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills Ability to collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare staff to ensure accurate reporting

Responsibilities:
Examine and analyze gynecological and non-gynecological specimens to identify cellular abnormalities and disease states Prepare slides and apply cytochemical stains as required Maintain accurate records and report findings reliably and promptly to pathologists or supervising staff Comply with laboratory protocols, safety procedures, and regulations Engage in quality control activities to assure compliance with accreditation standards Contribute to the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment Participate in ongoing training and professional development as needed
