Job Purpose Under the supervision of the Senior Scientist and Wild Rice Curator, the Researcher will support the proper execution of standard operating procedures related to wild rice conservation. The incumbent will contribute to the planning and implementation of routine operations, research activities, and experiments involving Oryza crop wild relatives. The role includes collecting data and ensuring accurate and timely submission of complete datasets. The incumbent will communicate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with biosafety regulatory requirements. They will also collaborate closely with the Genebank team and key stakeholders to ensure that project targets and deliverables are properly met. In addition, the Researcher will also contribute to preparation of reports, presentations, publications, and training materials. This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines. Roles and Responsibilities Contribute in the planning and implementation of all genebank operations related to Wild Rice Conservation such as regeneration, characterization, and seed processing activities according to the defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment needed for routine activities and coordinate the necessary plant management activities Collect, process, and analyze data to ensure that all the information submitted to the database is accurate, complete, and reliable. Support implementation of research activities and experiments related to wild rice Collaborate closely with other genebank teams to ensure targets and deliverables are achieved Work closely with research technicians to ensure the efficient and consistent execution of daily activities. Communicate with internal and external partners for all biosafety regulatory requirements. Coordinate with relevant IRRI services and units to ensure the effective and timely implementation of operations.
