Job Summary:

Seeking a full-time Laboratory Sciences Research Services Professional to join a research laboratory within the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to projects exploring the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in pulmonary vascular remodeling and the response of the lung vasculature to hypoxia and other injuries, utilizing an array of complementary approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

Breed and maintain rodent colonies, including genotyping and record keeping. Perform animal modeling tasks, tissue harvests, cell isolation, flow cytometry, cell culture, molecular based techniques (DNA/RNA isolation, RT-qPCR), antibody/protein

• based technique (immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and imaging).

Preparing common solutions and stocks, placing laboratory orders, and contributing to laboratory compliance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry Level:

Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.

Intermediate Level:

Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field. One (1) year professional level research experience.

Senior Level:

Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field. Two (2) years professional level research experience. A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field. Three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory.
