Job Description

MINIMUM:
PhD, MD, MD/PhD terminal degree from an accredited institution in medicine or life sciences, biology, or related discipline. At least five years relevant research experience in molecular biology and parasitology. Experience with molecular laboratory techniques, including aseptic culture and molecular genetics of the malaria parasite.
PREFERRED
Strong track record of peer reviewed publications in parasitology. Experience in malaria parasite culture Experience in genetic manipulation of the malaria parasite Expertise in genomics data. Experience in CRISPR/cas9 design Experience participating on funded projects. Teaching-Teach medical students and residents and other designated learners about in-patient and out-patient internal medicine; with the majority of effort involving supervising internal medicine residents in an in-patient setting. Position may also do precepting medical students in an ambulatory clerkship. Research- Assist in molecular studies of the malaria parasite. Creation and implementation of a research plan on functional genomics of the parasite. Assist USF Health faculty in grant preparation and publication submission. Supervision of graduate students or post-doctoral fellows in molecular biology of the malaria parasite Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.
