ICRM has new facilities, up to date electronic systems, and state-of-the-art equipment, including a Life-Aire filtration system. ICRM is JCAHO certified, privately owned, and has seasoned staff that provide renowned personal care. ICRM and Boise, Idaho both allow for a high quality of life and the ability to provide high quality medical care. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The Embryologist will demonstrate good general laboratory and sterile technique.
  • Ability to work accurately and proficiently, seeking perfection, with meticulous techniques.
  • Must be self- motivated and flexible in daily work assignment.
  • Must be well organized, hardworking, and have excellent customer service and communication.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and perform them with great attention to details.
  • Must demonstrate problem solving skills related to patient care and IVF lab services.
  • Must be able to participate in lab inspections.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to be an effective team member and perform additional duties as delegated.
  • Must maintain meticulous documentation and compliance with FDA, JCAHO, CLIA, and state regulations Job Skills/Responsibilities (Required)
  • Perform technical procedures in the IVF laboratory under the direction of the IVF Laboratory Director.
  • Prepare media with sterile technique and document the lots used.
  • Assist the physician with egg retrieval and assess oocytes retrieved.
  • Trim and Denude oocytes without trauma or injury. -Perform Sperm preps for ICSI and Conventional insemination
  • Assist with packing and shipping of genetic samples to reference labs.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving embryos, sperm and oocytes.
  • Perform daily QC of laboratory equipment and environment.
  • Adhere to IVF lab's double check/witness system for identity verification of oocytes, sperm and embryos.
  • Document all patient results in the EMR.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with patients (in person, email or phone).
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and periodic function checks and maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Follow appropriate bloodborne pathogen handling and disposal procedures. Job Skills/Responsibilities (Preferred, but willing to train the right candidate)
  • Perform oocyte insemination and ICSI with minimal trauma.
  • Process surgically retrieved sperm (PESA, MESA, TESE) for use with ICSI procedure and/or cryopreservation according to IVF lab protocol.
  • Perform daily fertilization checks and assess fertilization by observation of pronuclei and polar bodies.
  • Perform Embryo grading (Day 3, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7).
  • Freeze and thaw human embryos according to IVF lab protocol with a high survival rate.
  • Freeze and thaw human oocytes according to IVF lab protocol with high survival rates.
  • Assist physicians with embryo transfer and ensure proper patient identification before transfer. -Perform biopsy procedures, including trophectoderm biopsy, ensuring high survival rates for embryos.
  • Perform cell processing post trophectoderm biopsy, ensuring high rate of genetic reporting. Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology required.
- 2+ years IVF laboratory experience required.
