Role:

We're seeking an experienced field ecologist to join our growing team. This position requires a combination of ecological fieldwork and office-based data management and report writing. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, collaborating on projects with real-world impact, and getting hands-on experience in ecological monitoring and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct ecological fieldwork, including wetland delineations, vegetation surveys, habitat assessments, and restoration monitoring Perform threatened and endangered species surveys and construction monitoring Support habitat restoration and invasive species management projects Collect and manage field data using GPS, mobile apps, and spreadsheets Prepare maps, reports, and assist with permit documents Collaborate with project managers and senior scientists on a variety of ecological projects Participate in seasonal field projects, which may include travel and physically demanding work

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in ecology, biology, environmental science, natural resources, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in ecological fieldwork, environmental consulting, or applied natural resource management. Working knowledge of wetland delineation methods, wildlife surveys, and ecological assessment techniques. Proficiency with GPS data collection, ArcGIS, and Microsoft 365. Familiarity with plant identification in the Northeast US. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

Familiarity with NYSDEC and federal environmental permitting processes. NYS Pesticide Applicator License What It's Like to Work at
