at University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, United States Job Description Description The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Genetics, seeks a full-time Research Associate Professor. The appointee will contribute to the Center for Translational Neurogenetics and the Carvill Lab. The goals of the Center are to create a fully integrated, end-to-end precision-medicine framework that delivers personalized care for every individual with neurogenetic disease. This phased program will begin with a focused set of well-defined genetic etiologies in the rare epilepsies. We will build the scientific, clinical, and operational infrastructure required to design therapies tailored to each person's unique genetic profile and define measurable outcomes for preclinical trials. The appointee will participate in, and oversee the development of, cellular models to understand the effects of genetic variation on protein function and outcomes on neurodevelopment and function, as well as the analysis of diverse multiomic data types (genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics) towards identification of biomarkers of neurogenetic disease. The appointee will also be involved in teaching and training of postdocs and students. Compensation is dependent on qualifications. This position is benefits eligible.
