With a focus on developing differentiated product candidates that are designed to alter TGF-β signaling, we aim to target the pathways critical for the growth, repair and maintenance of blood cells and a number of tissues, including bone, skeletal muscle, adipose and heart tissue. Job Summary We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative candidate for a 6-month co-op role in our preclinical research group focusing on rare cardiopulmonary diseases. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the discovery and development of next-generation therapies. The candidate will gain valuable industry experience and receive extensive training in vivo and ex vivo research. In addition, a successful candidate will be inquisitive about science and capable of troubleshooting by reviewing literature/colleagues and designing experiments to test hypotheses. Primary Responsibilities Supports in vivo studies: willingness to work with rodents (Rats and Mice). This includes animal handling, dosing (IP/IV/SC/PO), bleeding, necropsy, tissue collection and wet lab sample processing.

Basic molecular biology techniques:

RNA isolation, qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA and flow cytometry Maintains clear, accurate records of experimental details and summarize data as needed in study reports. Attention to detail Provide updates at weekly team meetings. Core Competencies (Required Skills) Physiology, biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team as well as independently with supervision. Excellent communication and organization skills, good working knowledge of MS office, and data plotting. Preferred Skills Interest in cardiopulmonary physiology and fibrotic biology. Prior experience with laboratory animals (rodents), open to learning and perfecting rodent handling and dosing techniques. Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques including RNA isolation, qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA Experience in cardiac and pulmonary function assessment, and imaging is a plus.
