Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
The Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (MPRC) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to do psychosis research using fMRI and computational modeling Laboratory led by Dr. James A. Waltz. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on an NIH-funded project at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (MPRC), University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). The project involves the use of fMRI and computational modeling methods to investigate decision-making and reinforcement learning in people at clinical high risk (CHR) for psychosis and is part of a collaboration between Dr. James Waltz (MPRC, UMSOM), Dr. Daniel Wolf (University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine), and Dr. Cheryl Corcoran (Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai). The position is intended for a highly-motivated individual with a new or recent PhD in neuroscience or a related field. Additionally, the candidate should have an interest in psychopathology, a strong computational background, familiarity with the Unix/Linux environment, and experience with scientific writing for publications or grant applications. Candidates are expected to work semi-independently in the supervision of experimental work and analysis of behavioral and physiological data. Funding is available for up to 3 years. Salary based on NIH Stipend Levels and depends on experience. Qualifications PhD in neuroscience or a related field.
