Send job Job Details The Department of Neurobiology at Duke University School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computational or Theoretical Neuroscience at the Assistant Professor level. We seek outstanding scientists who use computational or theoretical approaches to address fundamental questions in neuroscience. Research areas are broadly defined and may include models of neural circuits and population dynamics; computational and theoretical studies of brain development, organization, and function; models of perception, cognition, learning, and behavior; and statistical and machine-learning approaches for understanding neural data and brain function. We are particularly interested in candidates who will establish an ambitious, externally-funded, independent research program and build collaborations with experimental groups across Duke's neuroscience community. This position offers an opportunity to help shape and expand computational and theoretical neuroscience at Duke within a highly interactive neuroscience environment. The successful candidate will have opportunities for collaboration within Neurobiology and across Duke, including Biomedical Engineering, Neurosurgery, Psychology and Neuroscience, Computer Science, and the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, as well as connections to Duke initiatives in AI and data science. This search is distinct from, but complementary to, the Duke University Discovery AI Initiative , which also includes a position associated with the Department of Neurobiology.
