Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our dynamic research team. Duties Conduct advanced research in cell biology, molecular biology, and immunology using techniques such as tissue culture, transfection, PCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry, ELISA, and immunoassays. Human iPSC-derived microglia and other brain cells Generation and characterization of cerebral and brain organoids HIV infection and persistence in the central nervous system Neuroinflammation and inflammasome signaling Aging and age-associated neurodegenerative mechanisms HIV infection and latency models CRISPR/Cas genome engineering Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) Other common Molecular and cellular biology techniques Isolate DNA from various biological samples and perform next-generation sequencing for genetic analysis. Maintain sterile laboratory conditions while performing tissue culture of mammalian cells and primary cell lines. Prepare detailed experimental protocols, record keeping documentation, and progress reports to ensure reproducibility and compliance with research standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design experiments that address key scientific questions in cell & molecular biology research. Contribute to scientific publications by preparing manuscripts, presenting findings at conferences, and engaging in knowledge dissemination activities. Qualifications Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related field with relevant laboratory experience. Demonstrated expertise in tissue culture techniques including mammalian cell culture and transfection methods. Strong background in DNA isolation, PCR techniques, Western blotting, flow cytometry, cytometry analysis, and immunological laboratory techniques. Proven record of scientific research with publications in peer-reviewed journals. Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards is a plus for translational or biotech-related projects. Excellent record-keeping skills along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Familiarity with biochemical laboratory techniques including ELISA and biochemical assays relevant to cell signaling pathways. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
