Swiftwater, PA Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST Sanofi's contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a Scientist I for a 12-month contract contract with potential for extension. Key Responsibilities Generate recombinant baculovirus and perform WVB activities. Perform protein expression using the baculovirus/insect cell system in shake flasks. Perform cell maintenance, transfection, infection, and harvest of viral stocks from suspension cultures. Sample culture flasks and prepare samples for analytical testing. Perform standard molecular biology techniques, including DNA purification, PCR, Western blot, FACS, and
SDS-PAGE.
Perform titer assays and aseptic techniques. Wash glassware and USP process equipment. Design, analyze, and document experiments while maintaining accurate records electronically and in laboratory notebooks. Communicate experimental results effectively in group and department meetings. Contribute to laboratory organization, reagent tracking, and ordering. Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with SOPs, SWIs, and protocols. Coordinate data capture and tracking. Write and review protocols and reports. Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or another relevant discipline. 0-2 years of experience with a BS degree in an academic or industry laboratory setting. Hands-on experience with cell culture and aseptic techniques. Experience with baculovirus protein expression and insect cell cultures is highly desirable. Ability to plan and conduct laboratory experiments and evaluate and interpret data. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize assignments. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Willingness to work changing schedules and hours as needed. Fluent in written and spoken English. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred Experience Recombinant baculovirus generation. Protein expression in insect cell systems. Suspension cell culture. Viral stock generation, infection, and harvest. Molecular biology techniques including DNA purification, PCR, Western blot, FACS, and SDS-PAGE.
