Job Description
Entry-Level Microbiology/Chemistry QC Lab Technician Job Description As a QC Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing quality control and laboratory functions essential to maintaining food safety and quality assurance within our manufacturing processes. You will engage in a balanced role, providing 50% focus on lab functions and 50% on production support. Responsibilities Perform microbiological analysis of products, water, and environment to support the Pre-Operation sanitation and HACCP program. Collect samples accurately for product testing, including energy drinks, sweetener samples, raw and treated water, and sanitation rinse water. Conduct analytical testing on energy drinks, such as CO2, air, volumes, crimp, torque, pH, brix, flavor, and seam checks. Perform titratable acidity and HPLC analysis for caffeine and preservative levels in products. Ensure the accuracy and calibration of all measuring devices. Accurately record and document results from product analysis. Ensure batching sheets are completed properly before sign-off and review ingredient labels, specs, weights, and regulatory documents. Communicate with batching, production, and sanitation teams for documentation and specification review. Pull finished goods samples for analytical and customer testing, and review labels for product release. Conduct QA Line Checks every 4 hours during shifts and review GMPs and food safety standards. Check temperatures and calibrations of equipment with supporting documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications 2 years of experience in food quality or an AA or BA/BS in a scientific discipline. Experience in biology, chemistry, and QC. Work Environment You will work in a dynamic environment with both lab and floor functions, providing a balanced experience. The company is a contract mixing and bottling manufacturer with two manufacturing sites, each equipped with analytical and micro labs. Your shifts will be from 5:45 pm to 6:00 am on a rotating schedule, typically 2 days on, 2 days off, followed by a 3-day rotating weekend. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
