Job Description
Description Summary/Objective The Chemical Lab Technician role understands general chemistry and can sample, analyze, and report on all samples utilizing pH or ORP meters, titration, and spectroscopy. They will put chemical additions into the computer using the Labman program. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Perform analytical measurements using titrations and various lab equipment such as pH, ORP and conductivity meters. Report out of control results to the lab Chemist or Lab Supervisor. Initiate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for lab procedures and chemical bath make-ups. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Complete tasks as directed by Labman and Preventative Maintenance schedules with minimum supervision. Research methods for analyzing new bath components as needed. Maintain master list of Chemical Safety Data Sheets. Competencies Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and ability to learn other computer programs used to run lab equipment. Basic laboratory knowledge and techniques. Technical Capacity. Learning Orientation. Strong time management skills with attention to details. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Thoroughness. Able to work on your own/problem solving. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional overtime as deemed by management and production needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. Good math skills. Preferred Education and Experience One year related experience preferred but not required as we will train.
