Job Description

Hours:
Sunday-Wednesday, 8:00pm-6:30am (3rd shift) (Occasional Thursday overtime may be required with a minimum 48-hour notice)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up, mixes and/or delivers production chemicals used in a manufacturing or process area where accuracy of chemical composition is important (e.g., agar, media, lyophilized solutions) in process operation. Operates autoclaves, preparators, and pressurized kettles. Works from written and verbal instructions. Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. Performs upkeep and cleaning of laboratory spaces, equipment, and glassware. Handles SAP transactions for consumption of materials used. May be required to clean up chemical spills.
Education and Experience:
College education (Preferred) - either graduated or actively pursuing a degree in Protein Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Required minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience or hands-on college laboratory experience.
Work Environment:
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally toxic, pathogenic, or caustic agents.
