Analyst II/Gas Scheduling Southwest Gas remote work United States, Nevada, Las Vegas 8360 South Durango Drive (Show on map) Aug 03, 2026 The Analyst II/Gas Scheduling is an individual contributor responsible for the logistics and accounting of transporting natural gas supplies for Southwest Gas Corporation (SWG) on Company-owned and third-party pipelines. This position is responsible for validating and maintaining various software programs utilized in the daily forecasting, scheduling, tracking, and recording of natural gas supplies. In addition, this position is responsible for evaluating and reconciling the output of these systems to effectively facilitate the movement of gas on multiple pipelines for use by SWG customers, and documenting and communicating consumption, trend information, and metrics to a variety of internal and external clients, including Southwest Gas transportation customers and their agents.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires three to five years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities. This position also requires good written and oral communication skills, in addition to PC software skills to be capable of maintaining Microsoft Word documents and complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

The incumbent does not have accountability for personnel or budgets. There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. The incumbent very frequently exchanges information with management and other employees outside of the Gas Supply Department and outside SWG. Frequently, the incumbent will influence management within and outside of Gas Supply.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This position operates on a 4-day work-week schedule which includes partial coverage of holidays and weekends. This position offers a hybrid work from home (WFH) schedule. Perform daily scheduling and confirmation processes on company-owned and third party pipelines Monitor BTU and SCADA data to ensure accurate and timely identification and correction of anomalies associated with RTUs in conjunction with Gas System Support Staff Coordinate the reconciliation of moderate exceptions between third party pipelines, gas purchasing, transportation customer nominations and confirmations, and accounting Analyze and assess the accuracy of daily weather and load forecasting models on a routine basis Develop detailed utility load forecasts and maintain the database for this information, including the creation, validation and maintenance of forecasting methodologies Develop and maintain the logic for programming and/or moderately complex spreadsheets and databases for the Daily Imbalance tracking program which provides daily operating data to management and customers Review Company tariff provisions relative to the Gas Scheduling function and assist regulatory staff in revising such provisions, as required Evaluate existing systems and procedures and recommend enhancements to continuously improve department and system efficiencies Perform system testing following programming changes to validate system functionality Document and maintain department procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements (FERC, Sarbanes-Oxley, PHMSA) to ensure compliance Prepare responses for routine data requests from regulatory agencies Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
