Overview We are an active, independent oil and gas company seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Acid / Downhole Chemical Supervisor to oversee our chemical operations and support our field operations. The majority of our job sites are located within a 75-mile radius of Abilene, TX, allowing you to be home most nights. In this role, ou will oversee all regulatory paperwork for the acid department and chemical inventory for the organization. Must have an extensive background and knowledge in well-site chemical treatments and downhole fluid applications. Direct crews during the pumping of acids and specialized downhole chemicals (such as scale or corrosion inhibitors) into oil and gas wells. Coordinate the assembly and disassembly of treating lines, pumps, and transport equipment at the well site. Track treating pressures, injection rates, and fluid densities in real time to match the engineering design. Lead pre-job and post-job safety meetings and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules. Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) before handling corrosive acids or high-pressure equipment. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and readiness of emergency spill response gear. Track and manage chemical and acid inventories on locations and at the storage facility. Inspect and maintain pumps, mixing units, and delivery lines to ensure high operational readiness. Skills Direct expertise in blending and pumping precise volumes of Hydrochloric (HCl) and hydrofluoric/mud acids to dissolve wellbore scale and create new reservoir pathways. Deep understanding of downhole chemical solutions—such as paraffin solvents, corrosion inhibitors, scale preventers, and emulsion breakers—to treat subsurface fluid flow restrictions. Mastery in calculating precise chemical concentrations, wellbore flush volumes, pump rates, and downhole pressure differentials. Ability to perform on-site fluid analysis, evaluate grind-out oil samples, monitor pH levels, and read mud chemistry fluctuations. Competency supervising the setup and operation of heavy field machinery, acid transport tanks, and automated chemical blending equipment. Practical diagnostics of surface-level injection machinery. Proficiency reading Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), well logs, pressure charts, and automated

SCADA/DCS

data. Adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) shipping, placarding, and manifest regulations for hauling bulk hazardous materials. Strict enforcement of OSHA, EPA, and internal safety protocols concerning the storage, PPE deployment, and handling of corrosive acids. Proven ability to manage field operators, implement production schedules, and enforce Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols during maintenance windows. Preparedness to act swiftly to mitigate operational anomalies, high-pressure well kicks, line ruptures, or hazardous chemical spills. Must live in the Abilene, TX area.
