Position Summary The Technical Service Representative•General Industrial is responsible for supporting sales by providing technical service activities related to coatings applications and formulation troubleshooting. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Respond to technical inquiries.
Documentation of customer visits and line audits.
Provide classroom and hands-on painter training for customers.
Assist customers and support sales in general coatings and application knowledge.
Recognize sales opportunities when engaging customers.
Lead trouble shooting activities at customers and coordinate with sales and laboratory.
Evaluate new products to ensure quality.
Assist lab with testing and application evaluations.
Assist with issues pertaining to the Powder and GI sales group.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry or Business.
Experience level preferred: Three to five years' experience operating a liquid or powder paint line. Skills and Abilities Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office•Word, Excel, Outlook), Concur, ERP system, and other office machinery.

Ability to travel over 75% of the time. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Physical Demands Regularly required to communicate verbally and audibly in a manufacturing or operational setting.
Frequently required to stand, walk, and move throughout the work area.
Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, and control objects, tools, or equipment.
Required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulder level.
Occasional operation of machinery using foot controls
May be required to climb, balance, and reach overhead as part of job duties.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety shoes, safety glasses, and flame-retardant uniforms or lab coats are required in production areas.
