Company:
Located in the Watsonville-Salinas area of Monterey County, we are a pharmaceutical startup that has been licensed by the DEA to produce Schedule I substances in a highly regulated and secure environment. Our focus is the cultivation of federally legal cannabis for drug development and research. As one of the first companies in the US to receive this approval, we are seeking to grow our team with individuals that thrive on the complex and unpredictable challenges of navigating a new industry. Analytical Chemist The BRC Analytical Chemist is a qualified and experienced laboratory analyst with a thorough understanding of the operations of an analytical laboratory. Must be familiar and have experience with UPLC, LC-MS, and/or GC-MS. Experience in an analytical services laboratory, quality control laboratory, or GMP laboratory setting is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
Operation and PM of laboratory analytical instruments Performs routine analysis using validated methods Participates in development, validation, and/or transfer of new analytical methods General laboratory operation, ordering and cleanliness Conforms to quality system and relevant SOPs Adheres to required controlled substance procedures Performs other tasks as required
Required Education, Qualification and Skills:
Minimum Bachelors of Science in Chemistry or related STEM field Experience (3+ years) with
HPLC/UPLC
chromatography and/or gas chromatography is required. The ability and eagerness to learn new methods and instrumentation is required. Willingness and ability to precisely follow SOPs is required. Experience in an analytical services laboratory, quality control laboratory, or GMP laboratory setting is highly desired Experience with gas chromatography and/or mass spectrometry is desired Experience with Empower 3.0 is desired. Experience with botanical extraction, purification and/or analysis is desired.
