Full Job Description Position Title:
Stability Chemist Pay Rate:
$20.00 - $26.00 DOE (Non-Exempt) Reports to:
R D Director Position Summary :
The stability chemist position works directly with R D Director, assigning shelf life of finished product by conducting accelerated and real time stability.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Tasks/ Responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Perform testing of stability samples in a timely and accurate manner to support the stability program.
  • Ensure samples are logged in and label accurately and pulled at appropriate testing intervals.
  • Evaluate samples against the standard on physical, pH, viscosity, specific gravity, weight loss, assay, and PET.
  • Perform data entry in spreadsheet and computer systems.
  • Effective communication with sales and project center if the product is out of spec.
  • Prepare stability summary report once stability test is completed.
  • Follow up with outside lab on all testing such as HIRPT, kill test and assay.
  • Maintain documentation in an accurate, clear and concise manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean laboratory environment and ensure that safety regulations are followed.
  • Conduct weekly reports regarding activities and results.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, working safely with laboratory equipment and chemicals
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Prefer at least 1 year lab experience
  • Basic computer skill such as word and Excel
  • Initiative
  • Problem Solving/Analysis Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or science Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Able to troubleshoot analytical methods and laboratory instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team. Working Conditions/Job Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasionally the work environment may be loud.
