Position Overview We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist for our R&D group to lead and advance our integrase/recombinase-based genome engineering platform, S-SELeCT. This individual will be responsible for driving the scientific strategy, execution, and delivery of key milestones to establish the technology across multiple use cases and translate it into therapeutic applications. The role requires both deep technical expertise and strong leadership to guide a high-performing research team. Key Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Lead the R&D organization in the development and optimization of S-SELeCT, an integrase/recombinase-based gene insertion platform.
  • Define and execute a milestone-driven R&D roadmap aligned with company and board-level strategic objectives.
  • Translate platform capabilities into practical applications, including therapeutic development and cell engineering use cases.
  • Oversee and perform experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation to ensure scientific rigor and reproducibility.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of research scientists and associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Drive innovation in recombinase engineering, directed evolution, and genome editing technologies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operation, and external partners to support product development and commercialization.
  • Ensure timely communication of progress, challenges, and opportunities to executive leadership.
Team Leadership & Influence Serve as a subject-matter expert and internal product champion. Mentor junior team members as the organization grows. Communicate priorities, timelines, and risks to cross-functional stakeholders. Qualifications Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in recombinase/integrase systems and gene editing technologies. Strong background in directed evolution and cell engineering. Hands-on experience with iPSC culture and genetic manipulation. Demonstrated track record of leading R&D teams and delivering complex scientific programs. Experience translating early-stage technologies into therapeutic or commercial applications is highly preferred.
