Job Description
ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY SUMMARY
: The Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently searching for three (3) part-time research associates that will work on the development of novel organic chemistry reactions. Research associates will work under the mentorship of Principal Investigator, Dr. Taylor Thane.SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO
(this is just a small sampling of work variety): The research associate will run experiments to synthesize organic molecules and to develop new organic transformations. The research associate will be trained in reaction setup, reaction work up, purification, organic analysis techniques as a part of synthesizing and characterizing new molecules. This includes training in advanced techniques such as Schlenk technique.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Currently enrolled in a 4-year college degree program majoring in chemistry or biochemistry. Excellent English verbal communication and writing skills. Responsible and dependable. Ability to work well with various people, including students, faculty, and staff. Interest in working with organic chemistry reactions and small molecules.PREFERRED
Completion of the organic chemistry lab and lecture series.ABOUT US
