Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Chemist to join our Quality Assurance and Manufacturing team. In this role, you will support daily laboratory operations, perform routine chemical analyses, assist with chemical manufacturing, and help maintain controlled quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards. Responsibilities Chemical & QA Analysis:

Perform chemical manufacturing. Perform routine physical and chemical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using standard laboratory equipment.

Documentation & Data Logging:

Maintain precise, auditable laboratory notebooks.

Quality Assurance Support:

Assist with Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, root-cause analysis, and non-conformance reporting. Help maintain compliance with ISO/GMP standards. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Execute testing according to established SOPs, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and industry protocols; assist in drafting or updating lab SOPs when required.

Instrument Calibration & Maintenance:

Conduct routine calibration, cleanings, and preventative maintenance on standard laboratory instruments; reorder reagents and testing supplies to maintain inventory.

Safety & Hygiene:

Adhere strictly to OSHA, EPA, and internal chemical hygiene protocols, including safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste. Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using techniques such as chromatography (HPLC, GC), spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC-MS), and microscopy.

Required Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related scientific discipline preferred. An Associate degree in Chemical Technology or Applied Science may be considered with relevant laboratory, chemical-manufacturing, and QA/QC experience.

Ability to work safely and independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during testing cycles. Ability to lift up to 35-50 lbs (e.g., chemical drums, test samples, equipment). Comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses/goggles, face shield, and protective gloves throughout the shift and a full face respirator.
